Work Through Your Dental Anxiety This Summer
- June 29, 2016
Welcome back to our oral health blog!
If you live in central Connecticut, we hope to see you in our office this summer!
Today we want to talk about something truly terrifying: dentists. Well, we are scary to some folks at least. There is a very real condition called dental anxiety that afflicts millions of Americans. And it is to be taken seriously!
Anxiety Is Real
Let’s face it, some people simply have more anxiety than others. That is nothing to be ashamed of. Others have had bad experiences earlier in life. If your pending dental appointment make you nervous, for whatever reason, then you may be tempted to skip out on it. That is understandable to a certain extent. In the short run it might even make you feel better.
You Can Run
But it really is not good for your continued well being to keep putting off the dentistry solutions you will need to keep your mouth clean and your smile looking great. And once you have been away for a long time, it will be that much more daunting to try to come back. Plus, even if you are brushing, flossing, and rinsing regularly, that won’t be enough to optimize your health.
But You Can’t Hide
Do you have cavity-detection or cancer screening devices in your medicine cabinet? We didn’t think so. You probably don’t have the professional-grade tools designed to remove tartar and plaque from your mouth, either.
That’s why we are here, and that’s why we want to try to make it easy for you to get back on-track.
We Can Help!
Whatever has happened to you in the past, we want to make your future dental encounters much more pleasant with sedation dentistry and an overall approach that is friendly and, well, gentle.
Our leader, Dr. Thomas Peltzer, is nationally known as an expert in the field of sedation dentistry and dental anesthesia. After having a particularly bad experience with dentistry as a kid, Dr. Peltzer developed a strong desire to make the experiences of his own patients comfortable and positive. As such, we are able to do whatever it takes to help ease your anxiety while you are here.
Regardless of what kind of dental treatment you are receiving at our East Street office in Plainville, CT, we can relax you when you get here with nitrous oxide. Oral conscious sedation is another good option. Beyond that, our Gentle Dental Care office is also able to literally put your fears to rest by putting you to sleep with IV sedation.
Once you are comfortable, we will be able to get to work. Just so you know, we provide a comprehensive range of dentistry services so that you can get what you need all under one roof.
Let Us Look After You!
We hope that you will give us a chance to earn your trust and your friendship. There is so much that we can do for you, beginning with relaxing your fears. Contact us today to get started!
