A Gentle Approach To Oral Healthcare

Hello and welcome to another edition of the Gentle Dental Care blog!

As our name implies, we make it our mission to make dentistry accessible to everyone in Central Connecticut. Our team is constantly continuing our education and investing in the sort of tools and technology that can make things easier for you.

We understand that some people have more difficulty than others when it comes to scheduling and keeping their preventive appointments. Some folks were scarred early in life by a rude or gruff dentist. Others have a more general fear of the unknown. Regardless of your situation, you will be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion when you walk through our doors.

The Easy Path To A Better Smile

Like we said, it doesn’t have to be hard to have a good smile. If you have any hesitation whatsoever, please let us know. We definitely want you to understand that, at Gentle Dental Care, we strive to maintain a welcoming environment and we are happy to dispense dental sedation when necessary. This is something that you will not find everywhere, so you might as well take advantage of it here.

Dispel Anxiety With Sedation Dentistry!

Because your ongoing care is so important and the obstacles can seem so insurmountable, we are prepared to take action on your behalf. In our office, we can set you up with sedation anytime you need to go through what you view as an unpleasant procedure, or when you simply need to relax your fears a bit more. Our leader, Thomas J. Peltzer, DMD, is one of the most highly trained and skilled dentist anesthesiologists and sedation dentists in Connecticut. In fact, he is known nationally as an expert in the field of Sedation Dentistry and Dental Anesthesia. So, you’ve got nothing to worry about there.

There are three increasingly potent sedation options around here:

Inhalation Sedation: This type of sedation involves the use of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to normalize your bodily functions and relax you for your procedure. It is a comfortable method of relaxation, and you can get back to whatever you were doing in no time.

Oral Sedation: Depending on your situation, you may prefer an orally administered form of sedation. We will give you a pill that you have to take prior to your visit. But fair warning: you won’t be in any shape to drive when you leave.

IV Sedation: Injecting the sedative into your bloodstream is the best we can do for extreme fear or invasive dental work. The result is immediate and you will find yourself relaxing straightaway.
