What Is Full-Mouth Reconstruction?
If you have been living with annoying or unhealthy dental issues (such as a less than complete set of teeth), or with older “solutions” that came with added problems of their own, we can help.
Full-mouth reconstruction is a strategic method of fixing a person’s mouth in such a way that they can smile again, they can chew fiber-rich foods again, they can look younger again, and they won’t have to worry about slippery dentures popping out any longer.
The plan differs from patient to patient according to an individual’s needs. It is basically a spectrum of treatments that may involve a multitude of different types of services, but it is worth repeating that the final goal is ALWAYS the same: chewability, function, lack of discomfort, healthy gums and so forth.
We are happy to be able to provide full-mouth reconstruction but this process is typically reserved for patients that have had a lot of old dentistry that has failed or they just haven’t been to a dentist in a long, long time.
A One Stop Dental Shop
The nice thing about having your reconstructive dental work done at Gentle Dental Care is that we can do everything right here in house. You will find that this is not the norm. What is more commonly done by dentists is treatment outsourcing. That means you would have to go to the oral surgeon for one thing, the root canal specialist for another, then you’d have to go to the gum specialist, and so forth.
Patients don’t like that, and for good reason! They just want to go to the one dentist that they know and trust. Besides that, they want to know that there are good sedation methods available along the way. Maybe you can relate. Perhaps you are wondering where to begin.
Is This My Best Bet?
Full-mouth reconstruction is the best bet when severe dental damage or decay has significantly compromised the health and appearance of your teeth. The treatment plan is flexible enough to address a wide variety of issues. Some of the potential procedures in this process are: teeth cleanings, extractions, implants, veneers, crowns, bridges, gum grafts, root canals, fillings, gum grafts, bone grafts, root canals, orthodontics, etc.
What Happens First?
The first step to full-mouth reconstruction is always a comprehensive examination and evaluation, with X-rays, diagnostic tools, imaging, and impressions. This is done to establish a starting point for your transformational journey.
While you are here, we will also look over your complete medical history to make sure you are healthy enough for the reconstructive dental work, and if any outside considerations need to be addressed. Before you leave, a step-by-step treatment plan will be mapped out with you to organize the procedures necessary to achieve the best results.
